To book an appointment you should contact the medical centre on 01243 77 69 88. Remember, in an emergency you should always ring 999 for an ambulance/paramedic.

Each morning there is a duty doctors' traige list. Please call between 8am and 9am to avoid disappointment. The Doctor will make 2 attempts to call you, and if the Doctor wishes to see you, they will arrange this.  

If your problem is urgent and you feel you need to see the doctor the same day we will arrange to see you. If it is late in the day  and you feel your problem can wait until the next day then please let us know.

If you or your family member feels very unwell or are in severe pain, please ensure that you have made this known to a receptionist so that the doctor can arrange to see you quickly.

Morning surgery runs from 08:30 to 12:00 each day, afternoon surgery from 14:00 to 18:00.

In addition to the routine appointments, there is a duty doctor available each day to deal with emergencies.

To make an appointment, please telephone reception.

You will also be offered the opportunity to make an appointment to have a new patient health check with one of the Practice nurses.

Our reception team do ask patients the reason for the appointment with the doctor. This helps us provide the most appropriate service for you. You do not have to give the receptionist a reason and if you choose not to, you will not be put under pressure to do so.

If you are willing to tell the receptionist the nature of your problem we will be able to plan your care better. In some situations you might find that your problem can be dealt with without needing to see the doctor.

There are a number of reasons why someone should be making an appointment with one of the nurses rather than the doctor and we would like to encourage our patients to book an appointment with a nurse in these situations. The nurses can deal with the following:

We will visit patients at home if they are too ill to come to the surgery. However, doctors can see three or four patients in the time it takes to do one visit and seeing patients in the surgery also means they have access to resources that are not possible on a visit.

If possible, please come to the surgery.

If you are at all unsure, please tell the receptionist and the doctor will phone with you to assess what is best for you.

You should telephone before 10am if you need a visit to enable the doctors to plan their time.

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

On Wednesday and Thursday evening we run a surgery between 18:30 and 19:30. These appointments are intended for those patients who find our normal opening hours difficult due to work commitments etc.

• GP and nurse appointments are available during the evening and at the weekend for people across Coastal West Sussex.
• This means that urgent appointments are available up to 8pm during the week, and during clinics on a Saturday and Sunday.
• This aims to improve access to GP appointments and help local people to get the help and support they need.
• The service is run by Innovations in Primary Care (IPC), a not-for-profit company owned by local GP practices.

The appointments are available at local GP access hubs, run from GP surgeries. GPs will only see patients who have a new illness and urgently need to see a doctor. They will not see patients who have existing problems. The nurse appointments are routine  and include smears, wound dressing and chronic disease management that can be hard to arrange whilst at work or when you are caring for family or a loved one.

These clinics are successful and help local people to access the help they need outside of normal opening times.

You book into the GP access hubs via your normal GP practice, and you may be offered an appointment at one of the hubs at the weekend if you call NHS 111 for urgent health advice and support.

The hubs may be at your GP practice or they may be at a neighbouring GP practice locally in the community around you. The teams will have access to your medical records with your consent, and any care they provide will be added to your notes so your GP practice can continue any ongoing care.
